In a nutshell, there’s a definite science and art to making sites rank #1 on search engines: it’s called SEO. When done correctly, your business gets found by thousands of new people daily, securing you new levels of online profits and success.

How we work with Rank Tracker is covered in our article “The Synergy Between Rank Tracker and 02Geek’s Tutorials” blog.

Rank Tracker accomplishes SEO-optimized sites by use of the following features:

  • Automatically checks your search engine rankings
No more spending manual hours. You just input your initial keywords to monitor.
  • Shows if your site moved up or down in search results
    With unlimited historical data.
  • Helps you discover profitable keywords you’ve been missing out on!
Rank Tracker’s powerful “suggest keyword” feature contains 16 different tools! Even your competitor’s websites are included. Hey, if that keyword is driving traffic for your competitor, it could do the same for you!
  • Supports 340 different search engines
You can track your rankings using those most important for you.
  • Shows you the BEST keywords to optimize your site for!
Rank Tracker’s KEI tool show you how many times a keyword has been searched by real people over the last month, plus how stiff the competition for it is.
  • Monitors your competitors’ rankings and compares them to yours
You can add up to 5 extra websites (your own or a competitor’s) to your Rank Tracker project (10 for Enterprise Edition) and quickly check and compare rankings for them. Rankings are displayed in clear tables, on visual graphs or in a special Competition Rankings Report.

Does 02Geek use Rank Tracker, and how?

Do we ever! When we first started using it, we considered SEO as a must-do that we hated! Pages that we really concentrated on were ranked highly on major search engines, but we didn’t really know which keywords were high — just that users were coming our way. Notice we said “pages we really concentrated on”: we simply couldn’t properly utilize SEO techniques site-wide as we didn’t have the time or a tool to help us streamline the work involved with figuring out what keyword would match every page on the site. (How we discovered Rank Tracker and set it up is covered in our “Synergy Between Rank Tracker and 02Geek’s Tutorials” blog.)

The only downside we found about Rank Tracker is that it’s not clear from the get-go that the application is a SaaS application. In other words you don’t buy the tool: you rent it. It’s a steep join-in fee: after a year or two you need to pay a really really small subscription fee. As I didn’t expect it, I was kind of annoyed – but it’s really fair when you consider that the Rank Tracker team revises the tool almost weekly with updates based on the search engines. Even with that unwelcome surprise, it’s a great tool: we’re keeping it even if we were SaaSed in to it without really noticing 😉

What are we all about

Here at 02Geek, our focus is on teaching you (if you’re new to programming,) the correct way to program from the ground up. For experienced developers, our courses cover in-depth concepts rarely if ever taught elsewhere. This is extremely time-intensive work on our part, but our focus is NOT on being hot, hip and cool (yet empty of real substance.) We stand out in many ways, one of which is our unique exam concept. (See Synergy Between Rank Tracker and 02Geek’s Tutorials for a detailed description of our exam strategy.)

Another reason to join up with us is because we assure your learning journey will be fun and enjoyable! (Wait until you see some of the example code you’ll be using! No “x ? y | (z%a);” here.)

How about an actual example taken from our Developer Basics course (covers concepts vital to ALL languages, not just Flash!) In this example, we’re explaining the “If construct” at its most basic level. As usual, we use real-world pseudo-code so you’ll best understand the concept in the least time:

If the dog barks at the door – let him out, else get out the cleaning rags.

Even if you’ve never seen a line of code in your life, you’ll understand that: likely you’ll remember it, too. Two birds with one stone (plus a dog and a wet floor.)

Learning about programming is not our only focus: tools that help you learn or help increase your site’s income are also important to us. Sharing knowledge of all kinds is our primary goal.
