One of the most frustrating things for me as a developer in Flash is the really bad search capabilities for documentations, while Google and the major search engines aren’t really focused for developers it makes it even harder to find exactly what your looking. That is why http://googleas3.com/ was born – it’s new – just pushed it up today. It’s probably going to take a while for it to catch on. I’m really happy to push this really cool project up.
In the next few weeks we will be starting to add more quality sites into the search engine starting from friends that helped us and supported us throughout the last 9 months in getting our site to be in the top 300k in the USA – wow that’s huge. Thanks so much to everyone for your support. I can’t wait for us to cross the top 250k. Until then please check out our new ActionScript targeted search engine. More features and sites will be added as the weeks go by. For now we are very minimalistic.
The majority of the searches right now are spot on. Only the Flash documentation and our site. More to be joined very slowly so we don’t destroy the quality of the results.
Say hello to http://googleas3.com/
Please share and let us know if there are any issues or if you are happy as clams with it.
P.S. – Just for history books; so I remember this day the day our site goes live we are in position 22,013,210 in Alexa – can only get better ;). Let’s see how long it takes us to be in the top 1,000,000 I have a feeling – not that long – you never know.
